I loved this experience from start to finish! The transfer was on time, our guide was amazing and i couldn't fault the day at all. Zakopane is the most beautiful place and i recommend it to anyone as the views are breathtaking. We used the cable car up to the top which was so much fun and got to have an even better view of the surroundings. The cheese tasting was one of the best things i've ever eaten! (and enjoyed the vodka too!) and had the most relaxing time at the thermal baths. I will definitely choose this again when i return to Krakow!

Well today's adventure took us to Chocholow and Zakopane Quick pit stop for some traditional smoked cheese, smoked right in front of us then grilled over an open fire and served with a wee bit of cranberry jam, it was that good we had to take some home with us. Chocholow is a historic wooden village with the most beautiful homes and churches! With a side note of the largest birds nest I've ever seen, gutted the storks have headed off to warmer climate for winter. Popped into see Jan (papa geppetto) and his amazing wooden cravings Then headed up to 1600m (i think) above sea level looking over the Tatra mounting range to quad bike through the forest passing by some amazing architecture and splashing through the rivers topped off with mulled wine to warm us back up The last stop was the thermal baths, two and a half hours of relaxation. Swimming up to the bar and enjoying a cocktail while taking in the spectacular views, swapping between outdoor hot pools, jacuzzi and roasting sulphur pools (didn't smell that bad) Then a sleepy drive back to krakow. Massive thank you to Virginia and Karina for making the day so fun and relaxed!

Our guide was concerned at all times that we understood the explanations, she solved all our doubts and generated a very pleasant atmosphere throughout the tour; she was very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Although we did not find snow, we took a quad ride with very nice views and the hot springs were amazing, I would have liked to stay longer.

We had the most amazing trip with Fun Tours Cracow. Michael, Pawel, and the team couldn’t have been nicer. With the snow conditions being pretty poor, we did the quad bikes, and wow, what an experience! We finished off in the thermal baths! Thank you so much for making our trip unforgettable.

Helpful tips for Day trips

  • Start early: Zakopane gets busy fast, especially during weekends and ski season (mid-December to April). Leave Kraków by 7am to make the most of your day and avoid the busiest hours between 11am and 3pm.
  • Wear sturdy shoes: Whether you’re strolling along Krupówki Street or hiking up Gubałówka Hill, comfortable shoes are essential for Zakopane’s uneven and sometimes hilly paths.
  • Bring a light jacket: Even in summer, the mountain air can feel cool and breezy. Temperatures drop quickly in the afternoon, so pack a light layer to stay comfortable.
  • Pack swimwear and a towel: Many day trips include a relaxing stop at Chochołów Thermal Baths. Bring your own swimsuit, flip-flops, and towel to enjoy the experience without renting.
  • Pre-book tickets: Book your cable car or spa passes in advance. High-season months (July and August) see long queues, so reserving early saves both time and hassle.
  • Carry some cash: Small cafés, market stalls, and oscypek cheese vendors often prefer cash. Keep a few Polish złoty handy for snacks or souvenirs.
  • Try local food: Don’t miss the chance to try Zakopane’s specialties like grilled oscypek cheese with cranberry sauce, smoky sausages, and hearty kwaśnica soup.
  • Shop local: Wander along Krupówki Street for hand-carved wooden crafts, wool socks, and leather goods made by Góral artisans. You’ll find plenty of unique keepsakes here.
  • Photography tip: Morning and sunset are the best times to capture the Tatra Mountains glowing in golden light. You’ll get postcard-perfect shots without the crowds.
